This Gender Wayang quartet is produced especially by Mekar Bhuana Production in the pre-1970s style, when the instruments were smaller, lighter and less ornamented.
Compared with modern instruments, the keys are noticeably smaller, making them more manageable to play and producing a softer sound.
Each instrument is at least half the weight of its modern counterpart, making them a delight to lift and transport (shipping costs are also a lot less!).
